Madat Kara began his successful real estate career in 1988 after 20 years as an entrepreneur. Born in East Africa, Madat attempted his first venture in 1969. He established a profitable retail auto parts business, which later expanded into wholesale distribution. In 1974, Madat moved to Canada and continued in the automotive trade by acquiring a franchised rust-proofing business. Within a year, he expanded his portfolio by owning a used car dealership, a service garage, and a chain of gas stations. He then chose to explore the hospitality industry and subsequently opened a highly successful new-concept restaurant that became well known in Toronto.
In 1983, Madat sold his holdings and made his permanent move to Ottawa. Upon arriving, he immediately purchased a convenience store, which led him to open several more until he eventually built a chain of convenience stores, as well as several photo labs and a formal wear store. By 1988, Madat sold his interest in the retail business and transitioned into the real estate industry. While building his real estate business, he was also involved in the ownership of two well-known Ottawa restaurants (O’Tooles), but eventually focused entirely on his growing real estate career.
Madat’s highly developed management and people skills come from years of experience and supervising countless employees. This foundation has contributed significantly to his outstanding success in building his real estate business. He is driven to deliver results and never gives less than 100% to his clients.
