Ottawa, the city I have lived in almost my entire life, is an amazing place to call home. My husband, Jamie, and I have raised three children in one of Ottawa’s wonderful, walkable neighbourhoods. I received my Bachelor of Arts and Physical and Health Education degrees and a Bachelor of Education, all from Queen’s University. I have worked as a high school teacher focusing on students with special needs, a group facilitator for federal government employees and a property manager for a supportive housing agency. My passion is helping people and trying to make a difference in their lives and in the community we live in. I have volunteered in schools, with Ottawa’s unhoused population, in community-based housing for adults living with mental health and addiction issues, and with new Canadians as part of a refugee sponsorship group.
